Shah Alam, Malaysia – 7 June 2026

Access to healthcare remains one of the greatest challenges faced by refugee and marginalized communities in Malaysia. In response to this pressing need, a Free Medical Camp was organized on 7 June 2026 at HELP University Subang 2 Campus, Subang Bestari, Shah Alam, bringing together healthcare professionals, volunteers, universities, and community organizations to provide essential health services to those in need.

The initiative was led by the Rotary Club of Bukit Kiara Sunrise under its “Unite for Good” campaign, in collaboration with a diverse group of partners committed to improving community health and well-being. The event ran from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., offering participants an opportunity to receive free medical consultations, health screenings, and professional healthcare advice.

The medical camp was made possible through the collective efforts of several institutions and organizations, including HELP University, MDRT Foundation, the Ministry of Health Malaysia, National Cancer Society Malaysia, Ampang Lions Club, IMU University, Vision University College, and the Rotaract Clubs of Bukit Kiara Sunrise and HELP University.

For refugee communities, healthcare access is often limited by financial constraints, legal barriers, and a lack of available information. Community-based initiatives such as this medical camp play an important role in bridging these gaps and ensuring that vulnerable populations can access preventive healthcare services and medical support.

The Rohingya Youths Support Network (RYSN) recognizes the importance of partnerships that promote health, dignity, and inclusion. Events like this not only address immediate healthcare needs but also strengthen trust between communities and service providers while encouraging greater awareness of public health issues.

RYSN extends its appreciation to all organizers, medical professionals, volunteers, and partner organizations whose dedication made this initiative possible. Their commitment demonstrates the power of collaboration in creating healthier and more resilient communities.

As healthcare remains a fundamental human right, RYSN looks forward to supporting and promoting similar initiatives that ensure no one is left behind, regardless of their background or legal status.

Together, we can build healthier communities and brighter futures for all.
